Meet Burke from Burketown...
 
A baby 3 week old pup was flown to Mount Isa yesterday morning from Burketown for PHC to care for. It appears that his legs are very weak and he is unable to walk as they keep splaying out.
 
Under the vet's guidance, we will be using a type of sling which will keep the baby's legs beneath his body so that he has to use them and thereby (we hope) strengthen the muscles.
 
Meanwhile he is so young he has to be handfed so Sue and John have once again volunteered to take care of the little man. What would PHC do without our foster carers. They are the backbone of our organisation and we would save very few animals without them.
