Teena Had a Narrow Escape.

Teena was surrendered by her owners late today and was to be euthanised in the morning. Fortunately I was at the pound bailing out another pup and was able to make an on the spot decision after phoning for help from one of our newer foster carers...thanks Brittany.

Sadly most pet owners are unaware that once a surrender form is signed for any animal, it can be 'put down' immediately since pound personnel do not have to wait for the usual 3 days (as is the case for animals with unknown ownership).

Teena is a very pretty and shy girl of eight months. Her photos don't do her justice as the light was fading when I took them. She is a black brindle with white contrasts and we have been told that she is a German Shepherd X American Bulldog. (If you look closely, you will see our other pound rescue today photo bombing in the background - cheeky Panda.)
