Found a Stray?

Below are some steps to take before calling us or taking the animal to the pound.

Can You Locate the Owner?

Don't assume anything about an animals past. Scars, injuries or a dirty appearance does not indicate that an animal has been abused or abandoned.  He may have been lost for some time and could belong to a worried sick owner who's been looking everywhere.

Please try the following before your contact us.

1.   No collar or tags?  Ask your local veterinarian to scan the animal for a microchip.  This is a FREE service.  Click HERE to find your local vet.

2.   Post a found notice on the  PHC - Animals Lost and Found page on facebook - a photo, description and where you found the animal should be included.

Important reminder re lost dogs:

Use good judgment when deciding to approach a loose dog and always err on the side of caution if you aren't sure about a dog's personality or behaviour.

What if I can't find the owners?

If you are still unable to find the owners, then please call us on 0456 664 255 or 0499 198 949 BEFORE you take the animal to the pound to see if we are able to help.
