LOST AND FOUND

Found a Pet?

If you’ve found a lost animal, please follow these steps before calling us or taking the animal to the pound.

Can You Locate the Owner?

Don’t assume an animal has been abandoned because of scars, injuries, or a dirty appearance. They may simply be lost and belong to a worried owner who’s been searching for them.

Steps to Try First:

  1. Check for a microchip – If the animal has no collar or tags, ask your local veterinarian to scan it. This is a free service.

  2. Post a found notice – Share a photo, description, and location on the PHC - Animals Lost and Found Facebook page.

Safety Reminder:

When approaching a lost dog, always use good judgement. If you’re unsure about the dog’s behavior, err on the side of caution.

Still Can’t Find the Owner?

If you’re unable to locate the owner, call us first at 0499 198 949 before taking the animal to the pound. We may be able to assist.
