OPERATION DESEX - PHASE ONE
Paws Hoofs and Claws Inc. (PHC) were one of the successful recipients of $5,000 for Round 2 of Mount Isa City Council's 2021 Community Grants program to go towards Operation Desex - Phase One. Phase One is also being funded by the generous donation of $150,000 received from The Rotary Club of Mount Isa.
What is Operation Desex - Phase One?
Thanks to The Rotary Club of Mount Isa and Mount Isa City Council, PHC are able to work alongside CentacareNQ and North West Indigenous Catholic Social Services Limited (NWQICSS) to provide an animal education and desexing program for low income earners. Our aim is to reduce the number of unwanted and homeless animals.
Animal Education Program
As part of the desexing program, CentacareNQ and NWQICSS Case Workers will hold education sessions with their clients and assist them with applying to have their animals desexed, microchipped and council registered.
OPERATION DESEX - PHASE TWO
What is Operation Desex - Phase Two?
Thanks to an incredible donation made to our organisation by The Rotary Club of Mount Isa we will be launching Phase Two of Operation Desex - a subsidised desexing program. We are aiming to have this up and running towards the latter part of 2021 for low income earners, those experiencing financial hardship or those that have exceptional circumstances. Each application will be assessed on a case by case basis.
